Specials-Book Review

Everyone gets to be Ugly. Everyone gets to be Pretty, but only some get to be special. Tally Youngblood has always been different and now she's been turned into a Special, designed to keep the Uglies from rebelling and to keep the Pretties stupid. While Tally loves her new life she can't shake off the feeling that something's not right. Then she's offered a chance that can't be passed up. To eliminate the New Smoke, forever. One last choice remains and no matter what Tally decides her world will never be the same.
I thought Specials was an excellent third book in the Uglies series. It was filled with suspense and action that kept me mesmerized and wanting to read more. The series was nothing I'd expected, having read Leviathan by Scott Westerfield earlier, the two series couldn't  have been any more different! Despite how intriguing and suspenseful  the plot line was I thought Specials could have used a bit more description when it came to the setting and characters. This could have helped immensely with the visualizing aspect of things. I would suggest this book to anyone in or older than grade six, due some inappropriate content, and who love futuristic ideas. I can't wait to get my hands on the fourth and final book in the Uglies series.
